The Spring 2010 collections brought a few themes that made many a fashion person wrinkle their foreheads in puzzlement.
There were fannypacks at Rachel Comey, Walter and Marc Jacobs. Clogs at Chanel and Louis Vuitton. And there were overalls, which showed up feminine, floral and flowing at Roberto Cavalli, both weathered denim and silvery metallic evening at Ralph Lauren at urban street at Jean Paul Gaultier.
Back in the day (mid 90's to be precise), overalls was one of our go-to looks. So easy and comfy, how could you go wrong? We clearly remember wearing the hell out of a camel colored corduroy pair from Gap Kids. And we definitely remember the time when wearing one strap of your overalls unhooked was the look to rock (along with brown lipstick, pacifiers and a myriad of other things we'd rather not remember).
But what about now? Does this recent re-emergence of the look on the runways make you flirt with the idea of jumping back into that old comfy onesie?
We think it has potential to be really cute on the right person, with the right layers underneath. And obviously the right pair. But we're not so sure about rocking the look ourselves just yet. What about you?
